Hi, I’m Beth, a Level 3 qualified Mat and Reformer Pilates Instructor and the founder of Exe Valley Pilates.

I'm also a qualified secondary school teacher. I swapped the school classroom for teaching adults and never looked back. I love helping people to make the most of their lives through health and well being. Teaching Pilates brings me enormous amounts of self satisfaction.

We moved to Devon as a family six years ago and I quickly discovered that there was a shortage of good quality, tailored exercise classes in the region. Hence the birth of Exe Valley Pilates.

My overall aim is for clients to enjoy what they do whilst working towards being the best version of themselves.
​
I can be found regularly reading and updating my knowledge in anatomy and body mechanics through professional journals and courses. I strive to improve my understanding of different pathologies and common issues. I love helping individuals to become stronger, fitter and healthier.

Classes are small and tailored with levelling built in so that they can be moulded to suit the people within that lesson. I also offer 1:1 & 2:1 sessions privately for those who prefer to have a more bespoke weekly session or because it fits their lives better. Since 2024 I have been Reformer Pilates qualified with APPI and teach Reformer within the studio as well.

Pilates is a whole body exercise regime that can take the heart rate up and feel like you have had a workout OR, equally can be mindful and calming.
​
Classes are specifically timetabled to allow you to choose the right class for you; I run strength and conditioning pilates classes sometimes using light weights and small equipment to create greater resistance and challenge for you as an individual. These classes may suit you if you enjoy cardio such as running, cycling, swimming but would also like to stretch and work individual muscles as well.

Health and Well Being Pilates classes follow the classical pilates repertoire with masses of modifications so that everyone can access their own healthy body routine.
