BEGINNER Pilates in Topsham, Exeter and Thorverton

NEW TO PILATES?

You're in exactly the right place.

Starting something new can feel daunting.

You might be wondering whether you're fit enough, flexible enough or coordinated enough to join a Pilates class.

The good news? You don't need to be any of those things.

At Exe Valley Pilates, beginners are always welcome. Many of my clients started Pilates because they wanted to feel stronger, improve their mobility, reduce aches and pains or simply find a form of exercise that felt supportive rather than intimidating.

You don't need experience. You just need to start where you are.

Pilates isn't about being the strongest person in the room. It's about becoming stronger than you were yesterday.

What Is Pilates?

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strength, mobility, balance and body awareness.

Rather than leaving you exhausted, Pilates helps you develop a stronger, more resilient body through controlled movement and mindful exercise.

Over time, regular practice can help improve:

  • Core strength

  • Posture

  • Balance

  • Flexibility

  • Mobility

  • Confidence in movement

Most importantly, Pilates helps you move better in everyday life.

What Happens at My First Class?

My goal is to help you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.

You'll be guided through each exercise with clear instruction and plenty of support.

There is no pressure to get everything right straight away. Learning takes time and asking questions is always encouraged.

I genuinely love helping people have those lightbulb moments when movement starts to make sense.

  • Beth's classes are great. You can work to your own level and she will guide you to go further and challenge yourself as you improve. It's also a lovely and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend these classes.

Am I Too Old to Start Pilates?

Absolutely not.

Many of my clients begin Pilates in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.

In fact, Pilates can be particularly beneficial if you're looking to stay strong, mobile and confident as you age.

Every exercise can be adapted to suit your body, your experience and your goals.

Movement is important, but so is connection.
Many people join Pilates to improve their strength, mobility or posture. What often keeps them coming back is the sense of community. Seeing familiar faces each week, sharing a laugh before class and knowing there's a space reserved just for you can be a powerful motivator. Together, we encourage consistency, celebrate progress and make looking after ourselves feel a little easier.

A Welcoming Community

One of the things clients often tell me is how welcomed they felt when they first joined.

Exe Valley Pilates is built around kindness, encouragement and progression, not comparison.

Whether you're returning to exercise after years away, recovering confidence in your body or simply looking for a new challenge, you'll be supported every step of the way.

If you've been thinking about trying Pilates, this is your sign.

I'd love to welcome you to a class and help you discover how Pilates can support your strength, mobility and wellbeing for years to come.
